About Thermal
A financial
control center.
One planning platform for daily money and long-term retirement, built so the two actually talk to each other.
Why it exists
The limits of “roughly.”
Most retirement calculators run on guesses. How much do you have, roughly, in your 401(k)? Your Roth? Your taxable accounts? Your crypto? And how much will you spend, roughly, once you retire? Then they run their math on those rough numbers and tell you whether you can retire at sixty-five. Real planning doesn’t work that way.
Thermal connects the accounts you already have. Real balances, real allocations, real tax treatment. It also tracks what you actually spend, so the spending question stops being a guess: start from your real number today, and subtract what goes away once you stop working. The Bridge ties it all to your retirement date. Model a Roth conversion, shift an allocation, change a contribution rate, and see exactly when you can stop working. The question isn’t whether you can retire at sixty-five. The question is whether you can retire at fifty.
“Roughly” is the problem.
The founder
Hi, I’m Andres.
I’ve spent nearly two decades building consumer-facing platforms. Most recently, I led engineering for the Epic Games Store with a team of around fifty. Before Epic, language infrastructure at Twitter (now X). The full career path is on LinkedIn if you want it.
I built Thermal because I wanted it. My money was scattered across brokerages, checking accounts, credit cards, and crypto, and no single tool gave me a clean view of all of it or let me plan retirement against my actual balances. It turned out a lot of people have the same problem, so it became a product worth selling.
Outside of Thermal, I also write High Earner Playbook, a weekly newsletter on tax strategy, credit card rewards, and wealth building.
Principles
What we believe.
- 01
Your data is yours.
Never sold, never shared, never used to train third-party models. Export or delete everything, any time.
- 02
“Roughly” isn’t good enough.
Tax-lot investment tracking, federal and all-fifty-state tax math, and ten thousand Monte Carlo scenarios exist because rounded answers are often wrong answers.
- 03
Today decides when you retire.
The Bridge exists because retirement isn’t a line in a spreadsheet. It’s the sum of every portfolio and contribution decision you make today.
- 04
No free tier, no dark patterns.
A fourteen-day free trial. Two price points. Cancel in one click. That is the whole deal.
A promise
Independent and founder-led.
Thermal isn’t venture-backed and won’t be. No board pushing for aggressive monetization, no data team repackaging your transactions as an advertising product, no growth team engineering you into buying things you don’t need. The priority is a great product, not a great exit.
The commitment is simple. I use Thermal every day. I’ll keep using it, keep improving it, and keep listening to feedback. As Thermal grows, so will the product: better data aggregation, more robust financial instrument coverage, new capabilities that earn their place. I’m in this for the long haul.
